2021 – 1 Minute

A 1 minute short poetry film, based on the poem by Elizabeth Jennings and read by Jonah Hauer-King. Shot on super 8.

Inspired by Mark Fisher’s book capitalist realism, the story follows an alien like creature who searches for meaning through meaningless worlds. Even though they move themself forward through these worlds in search of meaning if they stand still, the world will push and pull to keep them moving in. Moving in an endless meaningless loop. The film is a critique of contemporary capitalist society and the amount of mental health problems it generates, especially for young people.

“One” is a reflection on loneliness and loss.

Where is he going and why ?

Maria, expectantly, prepares herself at home to receive someone in times of a pandemic.
The pandemic has shown the need for human beings as social beings, this is a message in a 1-minute short film.

During lockdown (2020-2021) I’ve found myself without much human interaction, spending days and days alone at home. The only People I would briefly see on an almost daily basis were couriers guys. They inspired this experimental one minute film.

A house turned upside down, a tempting precipice and a man in the most critical moment of his life.

How sticky the game can be and how a person wants to win that everything is changing around, and he “sticks” into the phone and at the end gets the first place but does not know where he is.
