Film Autoportrét je mojou osobnou výpovedou o tom kto som a čo rada robím. Jednotlivé záľuby sú oddelené číselne. Každé číslo sa zaoberá inou záľubou, ktorá je obrazovo aj zvukovo prepájaná. V poslednej časti v čísle 6 je snový denník, kde rozprávam o snoch, ktoré sa mi najčastejšie snívajú. V čísle 2, ktoré sa zaoberá čítaniu kníh a môjmu obľúbenému autorovi Exupery. Každe jedno číslo o mne prezrádza viac. Toto je autoportrét kde zobrazujem seba práve teraz. Možno o pár rokov budú moje záľuby také isté alebo úplne rozdielne .

Khaled Akil is a Syrian artist living in Turkey, where he is free to express himself without the threat of war. Born into a family with a long history of artistic and political influence, Khaled is driven to create passionate and provocative works of art. Because of the Muslim Travel Ban, he is unable to attend his own openings in the United States.

Maxim needs a break, a smoke, a light, a real smile. A fast-food waitress across the street – the former border – might have it all.

Inspired by Mark Fisher’s book capitalist realism, the story follows an alien like creature who searches for meaning through meaningless worlds. Even though they move themself forward through these worlds in search of meaning if they stand still, the world will push and pull to keep them moving in. Moving in an endless meaningless loop. The film is a critique of contemporary capitalist society and the amount of mental health problems it generates, especially for young people.
